Services

Omeka.net Exhibit Hosting

Omeka ("Oh-meh-kah") is a web-based platform for creating public digital exhibits. It can be used to organize and present research materials such as photographs and multimedia. In addition to showcasing individual items, Omeka offers multiple ways of linking items together into collections and highly visual exhibits. While free hosting options exist, the ULS supports Pitt affiliates in hosting Omeka exhibits through a Platinum-tier subscription to Omeka.net.

We can help you...

  • Evaluate whether Omeka is the best option for your digital collection or exhibit project
  • Learn to use the basic functionality of Omeka and onboard your other team members or collaborators to Omeka
  • Develop a custom metadata guide for your Omeka projects
  • Understand the many plugins and templates provided on the Omeka.net Platinum plan
  • Set up and host an Omeka site through Omeka.net
