The Center for American Music is happy to host classes in our library and museum and to provide materials to exhibit and utilize during your class time. If the library and museum are too small for your needs, we can also arrange to have materials transferred to the University of Pittsburgh's Special Collections Reading Room or the Archives Service Center on Thomas Boulevard to better accommodate you.
The Center for American Music offers a variety of tools geared toward teachers. The first is our curriculum support guide, Voices Across Time, which allows secondary teachers to integrate historic American music into their classrooms. In addition to the curriculum support guide, we also offer bi-annual five-week summer teaching institutes to instruct teachers in the program techniques. Starting July 22, 2024, the Stephen Foster Memorial Museum will be open from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m., Monday – Friday. We are closed on the weekends and University Holidays.
