Abby Jacobsen is the Head of Media Services at the University of Pittsburgh Library System, where she oversees the equipment lending program, Stark Media Collection, and media creation spaces in Hillman Library. She created the library’s equipment lending program from the ground up and has led the launch of a new suite of media production spaces, including a film studio, audio lab, editing booths, and One Button Studio, designed to make hands-on media creation accessible to the entire campus community. Her work focuses on creating accessible, adaptable media environments that support teaching, learning, and student creativity. A Pittsburgh native and longtime Pitt community member, Abby holds an MLIS from the University of Pittsburgh and a BA in History from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
