Brian Mathews is the Dean of Libraries at Elon University, which has been ranked #1 in the nation for undergraduate teaching by U.S. News for five consecutive years. He enjoys working within Elon’s high-touch, high-impact, relationship-rich learning environment, where he can experiment with creative approaches to library spaces, services, partnerships, and student engagement. Brian has previously held associate dean roles at Carnegie Mellon University, Virginia Tech, and the University of California, Santa Barbara. He earned a master’s degree in library & information science from the University of South Florida.
