Archives & Special Collections (A&SC) has two reading rooms available for you to visit: one on the 3rd floor of Hillman Library in Oakland and one at the Archives Service Center in the Point Breeze neighborhood. So that you come to the right place, we encourage you to make an appointment ahead of time to ensure the materials you’d like to see are at the correct location. See below for more information on contacting us, when we’re open, and directions to our locations.
While we don’t currently require appointments, we highly encourage you to contact us ahead of your visit to make sure the materials you’re interested in are available for research and are been pulled ahead of your visit. For more information on our research policies and procedures, visit Doing Research in Our Collections. Feel free to contact us with any questions you might have.
