Langley Library (Life Sciences)


Langley Library is the life sciences library at Pitt. We provide resources and services to support teaching and research in the biological sciences and neuroscience. Our collection includes print and electronic resources, books, journals, and literature databases such as BIOSIS Previews and PubMed or Medline. We cover the subjects of genetics, microbiology, molecular biology, plant and animal sciences, evolution, ecology, brain science and all other aspects of neuroscience, and more. 

Our services include: 

  • Lending books, course reserves, borrowing items from other libraries (interlibrary loan; EZ-Borrow)
  • Reference consultations, assistance with using library resources
  • Library instruction for courses, resources, and methods

Our facilities include:

  • Scanner and two computers (University printer is available just outside the library door)
  • Charging station for electronic devices
  • Carrel seating
  • Tech-enabled group work rooms with monitors for sharing screens from your computers
  • Reservable a group work room (Non-reservable for the Spring 2021 semester)
