National Hispanic Heritage Month: Dr. Aurea María Sotomayor-Miletti

We are pleased to have Dr. Aurea María Sotomayor-Miletti reading selections from her various poetry in Spanish and English on October 12, 4-5:30pm in the Thornburgh Room, first floor of Hillman Library. Dr. Sotomayor-Meletti joined the University of Pittsburgh in 2011, after a long career as a professor in the University of Puerto Rico.

She is Professor in the Department of Hispanic Languages and Literature, the Program of Gender and Women Studies, and Cultural Studies in the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Sotomayor-Miletti's work has been included in many anthologies in Latin America and her own country, and she's published several books as a poet. She was also co-founder of the cultural, literary and post-modern theory-oriented journals Postdata, Nómada and Hotel Abismo in Puerto Rico.
