Owen Library Information Literacy

The Johnstown Library staff is committed to the development of student information literacy skills and collaborating with Pitt-Johnstown classroom faculty to teach students to be knowledgeable and effective users of information resources. Information literacy is essential to the success of students, and is the basis of lifelong learning. Librarians are available to assist classroom faculty with integrating the University's information literacy goals into their curriculum. In addition to course-related sessions, the Library offers a number of instructional resources, including ULS LibGuides. To request the creation of a LibGuide for any course being taught, assistance with the creation of library research assignments, or to schedule a library instruction session, classroom faculty can contact David Kupas, Instruction/Public Services Librarian, at 269-1983 or e-mail dmk24@pitt.edu.
